I heard from a friend that I could use WhatsApp to compress images and videos but he didn’t really explain to me how. Having some images I will like to compress using WhatsApp and won’t want to install a third-party app for this. How do I go about?

For as long as I have known WhatsApp, it has had a media compression feature. This might prove useful in some cases, even though soo many people do not like it.
The trick is pretty simple. All you have to do is send the media file you want to be compressed to any of your contacts then get the compressed version from your Android WhatsApp media folder. This will be available via your media gallery or Camera Roll for iOS users.
Note that in the said folders, you can find the compressed variations of the files. This compression method works if a decrease in the quality of the picture or video is a non-issue for the user.
